Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Kalle Svensson (ranked 1441 p4p, 170 weight class) and John Puller (ranked 3029 p4p, 314 weight class). John Puller is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kalle Svensson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, John Puller!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Wesley Smith and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Puller lands a slapping body shot.
Svensson blocks a leg kick.
Puller sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.

Puller swings and misses with a hook to the body.

and Svensson counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Svensson.

Svensson drops back, looking for a kneebar! Puller looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Puller looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Puller!

Svensson is looking to regain half guard here but Puller keeps moving and retains side control.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Svensson wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Puller is now in half guard.
Puller perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Svensson is looking to improve his position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Puller swings wildly with an uppercut but Svensson uses good head movement to avoid it.
Svensson fails to pull the fight into his guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Svensson pulls Puller in close to his closed guard and prevents Puller from doing any damage or advancing position.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Puller throws a shot from downtown. Svensson moves away and avoids it.

enabling Puller to counter with a crisp jab.
Svensson on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.

Puller tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Svensson was well out of range. Poor timing from Puller.

John Puller showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Puller in particular looking to stall.
Puller's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

The referee asks Puller politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Puller prefers to stall for the moment though.

John Puller comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Puller has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

John Puller tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
