The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sliver takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.

Akayev has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Akayev has the rear naked choke here! This is very bad for Sliver! Can he survive? No! He's out! Akayev gets to his feet and celebrates with his cornermen. He looks absolutely delighted. In the post fight interviews he takes time to thank his parents and everyone who has believed in him from the start. How sweet.
