The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nicu throws a leg kick which misses Chiasson's front leg but catches the back leg as Chiasson tries to avoid it.
We've been informed that Chiasson has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
Nicu ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Chiasson moves away.
Chiasson rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Nicu moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Chiasson connects with a nice looking jab.
Chiasson throws the left hand but Nicu avoids the punch easily.

Nicu lands a nice shot that snaps Chiasson's head back.

Chiasson is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.

Chiasson throws a right and a left that Nicu avoids nicely.
Nicu misses with an uppercut.

Nicu throws a low kick but Chiasson moves out of range easily.
Chiasson looks like he wants to counter punch here.
Chiasson shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Nicu is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.

Chiasson misses with a takedown attempt - Nicu sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Nicu scores with a jab. Chiasson acknowledges it with a nod of the head.

Are you kidding me?! Nicu ducked down and unloaded an uppercut from hell that sent Chiasson clean off his feet! Someone make me a GIF - that's knockout of the night for sure!
