The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Cornwell gets caught napping as Mitchell dives in and scores a takedown. Cornwell manages to retain guard.
Cornwell throwing strikes off his back to little effect.
Mitchell working some strikes from top position.
Cornwell not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Cornwell knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Mitchell on the ground.

Mitchell stands and steps away. Cornwell gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Cornwell dives in and grabs Mitchell's left leg, looking for a takedown. Mitchell pushes down on Cornwell's head and hops out.
Cornwell shoots for a double leg takedown but Mitchell sprawls well. He's pushed Cornwell's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
As Cornwell backs off Mitchell throws a huge counter combo but Cornwell manages to avoid it all.
Cornwell misses with a takedown

and Mitchell counters with a nice double leg into side control. Cornwell won't be happy with that.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for George Cornwell. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Mitchell advances nicely into full mount.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
