Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dwain Randall (ranked 7853 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sterling Archer (ranked 5751 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Dwain Randall!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Sterling Archer!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Dillan Fox and Gregory Folan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Archer moves into the clinch successfully.
Archer lands a shot to the body.
Archer slows down the pace here.

Archer manages to pull guard.
Archer is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Randall won't allow Archer to sweep him here.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Randall wanted to stand there but Archer had control of the position.

Archer working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Randall has passed into half guard!

Archer looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Randall tries to stand and escape but Archer is controlling the position.
Archer missing with punches from the bottom.
Randall wants to take a breather but Archer is having none of it.
Archer is trying to get back to full guard.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
It looks like Randall is going to stand back up.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Archer takes the fight into the clinch.
Randall has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Archer avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Archer lands a nice shot to the body.

Archer has Randall pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Archer pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Randall tumbling to the mat - Archer dives into Randall's guard.
Randall really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Archer gets to his feet - Randall follows without any prompting.

Archer feints and as Randall raises his hands in defense, Archer changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Randall wants to stand but Archer is controlling the position.
Randall trying to keep a closed guard but Archer is proving a slippery customer.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Randall wants to sweep but no luck.
Archer engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
Randall is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Archer is controlling him.
Archer must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Archer sitting in guard here, content to control.
Archer stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Randall swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Randall can't keep his opponent in guard - Archer advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Archer throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Sterling Archer dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Randall is looking to clinch.

Randall clinches up against the cage.

Archer ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Archer no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Archer looking for subs off his back but Randall has passed one foot through into half guard.
Randall content to control rather than advance.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Archer is looking for a sweep. Randall is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Archer manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Randall keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.
Archer effectively controlling the action here.

Archer turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Archer manages to end up in side control.

Archer has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

Archer looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Randall is trying to stand up here but Archer is controlling him well.
Archer works his way into full mount!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Archer throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Randall because Archer loaded up on that one.
Archer is dominating on the ground here - he's now on his opponent's back, looking to sink in the hooks. Randall is in real trouble.
Archer has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Randall is in bad spot here.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Randall is keeping busy.
Randall trying to get back to his feet but Archer is in full control for now.

Randall prevents Archer from getting a body triangle.
Archer controlling from the back.

Archer seems to be going for a rear naked choke. He has an arm under Randall's chin but Randall turns very nicely into Archer's guard. Good BJJ skills being displayed there by Randall.
Randall has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Archer is proving hard to escape from.

Randall is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Archer is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Archer has escaped and now he's on top!

Sterling Archer showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.



Randall tries to keep at a distance but Archer has taken the fight into the clinch.
Randall keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Archer's efforts to push away.
Archer is trying to break the clinch but Randall has him pressed against the cage.
Randall has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Archer is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Archer will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Randall up against the cage.
Randall has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Archer after a bit of a struggle.

A frustrated look appears on Archer's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Archer blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Archer wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

Archer drags the fight down to the ground.
Randall's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Randall throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.

Archer looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Archer has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Randall is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Archer.

Randall working the head with strikes.
Randall slows the pace down.

Randall stands up.

Archer moves into range and clinches up with Randall.

Archer tightens his grip and picks Randall up, before dumping him to the ground. Randall manages to land in guard.

Randall pushes Archer off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Archer clinches.
Randall lands with a light punch inside.
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.
Randall tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dwain Randall. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Randall successfully pulls guard.

Randall looking for a guillotine here but Archer defends easily.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Archer in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Archer not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Archer trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Randall manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
A bit of stalling here from Archer.
Dwain Randall has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Sterling Archer is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Randall keeps control of Archer as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

And that's the end of the fight!
Dwain Randall showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Archer has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
