Reid is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Phenomenal . Derek Reid has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Vince Sanchez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Derek Reid!
The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Chris Dean and Donatello Bradman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Reid throws a body kick that misses.
Sanchez seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.
Reid tries to clinch but Sanchez moves out of range.
Sanchez is looking to counter the offense by Reid and move into the clinch.
Reid lands a head shot.
Reid tries to clinch up
and Sanchez connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Reid shoots in for a double leg but Sanchez sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Reid goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

and Sanchez counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Sanchez.
Sanchez is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Reid is defending well.

Reid gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.

Vince Sanchez has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Derek Reid.
Reid gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Sanchez.

Reid works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
Reid stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Sanchez swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Reid slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Sanchez decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Reid, up you get!

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Vince Sanchez.
Well Sanchez has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
