And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Gustav Gustavsson!
The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, David Schapiro and Jonathan Paton.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gustavsson misses with an uppercut

and Midget decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Gustavsson's guard.

Gustavsson pushes Midget off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
Midget looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Gustav Gustavsson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Midget slips under a jab.
Midget appears to be looking for a counter takedown.
Gustavsson slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Midget ducks right into an uppercut from Gustavsson.
Midget gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Gustavsson bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.

Gustavsson jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Gustavsson tries to bum rush Midget with a series of wild strikes but Midget uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Midget shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Gustavsson manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Midget drops back, looking for a kneebar! Gustavsson looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Gustavsson looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Gustavsson!

Gustavsson in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time.
Midget is trying to control Gustavsson's posture but Gustavsson avoids it.

Midget manages to get back to half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Gustavsson seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Midget does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Midget looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
Midget manages to get to full guard.

Midget working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Gustavsson doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Gustavsson manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Midget looking for a guillotine here but Gustavsson defends easily.

Midget has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Gustavsson doesn't defend quickly enough and Midget has managed to lock this one up! Can Gustavsson escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Midget on a fantastic submission victory.
