Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 10 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Aleksandr Petrovski!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 6 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Justin Wyderko!
The judges for this bout are Santiago Holmes, Daniel Franklin and Peter Branson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wyderko has a takedown stuffed.
Petrovski shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Wyderko as he jumps to the side.
Petrovski pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Petrovski fails to land the takedown.
Wyderko wants to counter the offense by Petrovski and move into the clinch position.
Wyderko tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Petrovski went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
Petrovski swings and misses with a shot to the body
and Wyderko counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Wyderko scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Wyderko tries to keep at a distance but Petrovski has taken the fight into the clinch.

Petrovski gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
Petrovski wants to get up but he can't break Wyderko's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Wyderko is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Petrovski is aware though and is defending well.

Wyderko can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Petrovski controls the pace.
Petrovski's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Wyderko enables Petrovski to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Wyderko manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Wyderko is trying to keep Petrovski in close.

Wyderko looking for a guillotine here but Petrovski defends easily.
Wyderko trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!

Petrovski with a flurry of punches that miss.
Petrovski has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Wyderko has a closed guard, preventing Petrovski from standing up.
Petrovski seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Petrovski stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Wyderko swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Wyderko wants to stand and escape but Petrovski is having none of it.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Petrovski pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Wyderko is keeping the position for now.
Petrovski stands up over Wyderko, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Wyderko is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Petrovski stands and steps away. Wyderko gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Wyderko tries to clinch up.
Petrovski stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Petrovski wants it to stay on the feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Wyderko wants to clinch.
Wyderko lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Petrovski shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Wyderko defends it nicely.
Despite the aggression on Wyderko's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Petrovski knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Wyderko on the ground.

Wyderko is looking to control Petrovski's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Wyderko avoid being mounted?
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Petrovski not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Petrovski seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Wyderko for as long as he can get away with.
Wyderko is looking to control Petrovski's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Wyderko avoid being mounted?

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Petrovski stalling.
Wyderko flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Petrovski is pressing down on Wyderko's thigh, looking to free his foot. Wyderko is holding on for now.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Wyderko gets tackled into the cage by Petrovski. Petrovski maintains the clinch.
Wyderko is working for takedown but Petrovski is calmly controlling the position for now.
A right handed body shot lands from Petrovski.
A short left from Wyderko.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Petrovski tries to circle away but Wyderko has him pinned against the cage.
The referee is keeping an eye on Petrovski - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
Wyderko tries to score a body lock takedown but Petrovski shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Petrovski jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Wyderko walks away with a smile on his face. Petrovski gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Aleksandr Petrovski. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Wyderko shoots for a double leg takedown but Petrovski sprawls well. He's pushed Wyderko's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Horrible takedown attempt by Petrovski or perhaps it was just good defense by Wyderko, which made it look bad.
Wyderko dives in for a single leg takedown but Petrovski sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Petrovski misses with a wild combination.
Petrovski throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Petrovski clinches up with Wyderko and pushes him back against the cage.

Petrovski lands a takedown into guard.

Petrovski is sitting in close to Wyderko's body. Wyderko has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Petrovski is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Petrovski is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Wyderko.
