The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alderich will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Barbosa looks to land a combination. Alderich sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Alderich has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Barbosa ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Alderich moves away.
Alderich fails in his attempt to clinch.
Alderich looks to land a left hand but Barbosa moved out of range nicely.

Alderich rushes Barbosa and presses him up against the cage.
Barbosa lands with a left to the head.

Alderich's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Barbosa pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Alderich uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Barbosa.
Alderich throws a big counter combination but Barbosa scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.

Barbosa closes the distance and clinches.

It looks like Daniel Barbosa has been cut.
Barbosa throws a jab when Alderich was well out of range.
A solid leg kick lands there for Barbosa.
Barbosa looks for a takedown but Alderich sprawls well.
Barbosa tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Alderich fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Barbosa.

Barbosa shoots in and bounces Alderich off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Alderich has his feet on Barbosa's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.

Barbosa cracks Alderich with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.

Barbosa throws a right and a left that Alderich avoids nicely.

Alderich bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

Alderich fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Barbosa, pushing him back against the cage.

Barbosa shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Barbosa was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Alderich explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there!
Alderich tries to close the distance and clinch up but Barbosa swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Barbosa connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
BAM! Barbosa delivers a spinning backfist that drops Alderich like a ragdoll! This is all oooooveeeer! He was out before he hit the ground!
