Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Greg Hunt (ranked 5748 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sophia Asquith (ranked 5800 p4p, 0 weight class). This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Greg Hunt!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Sophia Asquith!
The judges for this bout are Vladimir Khabensky, Aleksei Zolotukhin and Illya Tyunina.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hunt lands with a right hand.
Asquith shoots in looking for a takedown but Hunt manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Asquith's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Hunt tries to clinch there but Asquith circles away.
Asquith avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Asquith is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch.

Hunt misses with a body kick.
Hunt tries to clinch but Asquith moves out of range.
Hunt throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

and Asquith counters by clinching up.
Hunt is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Asquith to keep the fight standing.

Asquith ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Asquith no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hunt stops Asquith from standing up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hunt pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Asquith is keeping the position for now.
Asquith is pulling down on Hunt's head. It's preventing any offense from Hunt, at least for the moment.
Let's hope that Asquith has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Asquith decides to pull guard.

Asquith should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
We're seeing a lot of stalling here from Asquith.
Hunt is looking to work some ground and pound but Asquith has wrist control.
Asquith has control of Hunt's left arm, preventing Hunt from doing any damage.

Hunt passes to side control.
Hunt looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Asquith is avoiding damage well.
Asquith tries to buck Hunt off but Hunt is having none of it.

Hunt is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Asquith is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Hunt works to advance to full mount. Asquith defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.
Asquith tries to hold on but Hunt pushes him away.
Hunt can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Asquith is looking to escape.

That was a close round but I would say that Greg Hunt will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Asquith fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Asquith is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.

Asquith escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Hunt throws out a leg kick but Asquith moves out of range and Hunt only half commits.

Asquith shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Hunt as he jumps to the side.
Hunt misses with a takedown attempt - Asquith sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Asquith leaves Hunt with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

and Asquith counters with a three punch combo that has Hunt backing up. Hunt nods at Asquith to acknowledge the strikes.

Asquith is working for takedown but Hunt is calmly controlling the position for now.

Hunt throws a sloppy head kick and Asquith moves out of range easily.
Hunt shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Asquith as he avoids it easily.
Asquith wants to counter with a clinch but Hunt pushes him away.
Hunt will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Asquith gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Hunt.

Kneeeeees! The crowd are calling for knees to the body. Asquith obliges.
Asquith has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Hunt avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Hunt is trying to maintain a safe position but Asquith gets an underhook and turns Hunt into the cage.
Hunt is trying to drag Asquith to the mat but Asquith just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Sophia Asquith showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Greg Hunt overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Hunt is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Asquith pulls his head out easily.

Hunt throws a leg kick but Asquith checks it.
Hunt changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Asquith tries to avoid it but Hunt manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Asquith to the ground. Asquith escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Hunt dives in and grabs Asquith's left leg, looking for a takedown. Asquith pushes down on Hunt's head and hops out.

Asquith is staying active underneath Hunt, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Asquith really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Hunt. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Asquith works his way to full guard. Good work.
Hunt will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

I think Asquith has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
