PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Bob Matthew (ranked 5841 p4p, 0 weight class) and Anubis Zeus (ranked 5685 p4p, 518 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Zeus slips under a jab.
Matthew misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Zeus looks to clinch
and Matthew counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Zeus misses with a double jab
and Matthew counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Matthew changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Zeus closes this distance looking for a takedown but Matthew circles away.
Zeus steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Matthew.
Matthew tries to work over Zeus's front leg with a kick but Zeus checks it.
Zeus is clearly looking to counter with head kicks.
Matthew does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Zeus wants to clinch
letting Matthew counter with a right hand.
Matthew throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
Matthew looks to land a left hand but Zeus moved out of range nicely.
Zeus tries to bum rush Matthew with a series of wild strikes but Matthew uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Zeus drops his hands momentarily and Matthew takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.

Zeus has taken the fight to the clinch.
Matthew keeps control of Zeus as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Zeus is trying to drag Matthew to the mat but Matthew just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Zeus has Matthew pressed against the cage, preventing Matthew from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Zeus displaying some good clinch control by pressing Matthew up against the cage.
Zeus tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Matthew's elbow.
Zeus wants to break free but Matthew has control.
Zeus is trying to force a seperation but Matthew has the dominant position.
A nice right hand lands inside from Matthew.

Zeus wants a takedown.
Bob Matthew has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Anubis Zeus.
Matthew throws an elbow that misses.
Zeus is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Matthew is keeping busy.
Matthew working hard to break the clinch.
Zeus is trying to maintain a safe position but Matthew gets an underhook and turns Zeus into the cage.
Matthew is stalling here.
Zeus goes for a takedown in the clinch but Matthew prevents it.
Zeus tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Matthew smiles and moves away.
Zeus looks winded!

Zeus takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Matthew tries a head kick but it misses.
Zeus is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.

It looks like Anubis Zeus has been cut.
Matthew lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Zeus pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Matthew changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Matthew lands with a shot to the body.
Good exchange - Matthew coming out on top.
Matthew throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Matthew cracks Zeus with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.

Zeus is rocked!
Matthew throws a body kick that misses.
Zeus is still on wobbly legs! Can Matthew finish him?
Matthew cracks Zeus with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Zeus tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Matthew pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Zeus is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!
