Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Thiago Perez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Kinsey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Perez comes to the cage accompanied by GMS - Ghost. Thiago Perez has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Thiago Perez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, James Kinsey!
The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, Paul Tew and James Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kinsey darts in and clinches Perez up against the cage.
Perez tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Kinsey just stands there and leans against the cage.
Perez could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Kinsey wants to break free but Perez has control.
Kinsey keeps control of Perez as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Kinsey manages to break the clinch.
Perez darts in trying to clinch

and Kinsey counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Kinsey.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Perez wants to control but Kinsey is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Kinsey wants to stand up but Perez is controlling the position.

Perez is trying to maintain the position but Kinsey is very close to passing his half guard.
Perez gets back to full guard.
Perez controls Kinsey momentarily but Kinsey frees himself.
Perez wants to stand and escape but Kinsey is having none of it.
Perez has a closed guard, preventing Kinsey from standing up.
Kinsey trying to control the position from guard on top but Perez is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
A head kick misses from Perez.
Perez fails with the takedown

and Kinsey counters with a takedown into side control.
Perez is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Kinsey's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
Perez is trying to get back to full guard.
Perez moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Perez doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Kinsey gets to his feet - Perez follows without any prompting.
Perez is breathing heavily.
Kinsey wants to clinch.

Kinsey has closed the distance and engaged Perez in a clinch.
Perez fails to pull guard.

Perez tries for a takedown. No joy.

Kinsey gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Perez regains guard.

Perez looking for subs off his back but Kinsey has passed one foot through into half guard.
Perez has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Kinsey is working away from the top position though.

Kinsey missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
Perez is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Perez pushes Kinsey off looking to stand but Kinsey dives back in and keeps control.

Kinsey escapes and gets back to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

James Kinsey dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!



Perez looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Kinsey!

Perez stands up from mount. Strange move.
Perez wants to clinch but Kinsey slips to the side

and Kinsey counters with a shoot takedown. Perez fights it but they end up in guard.
Kinsey passes easily into side control. Nice work.
You can see the frustration on Perez's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Perez pushes Kinsey away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Kinsey gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Perez is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Kinsey off and has taken his back!

Perez throws a big right hand but he misses and hits the mat. Ouch.
Will Perez go for the finish here or will he try and keep control of the position?
Kinsey trying to get back to his feet but Perez is in full control for now.
Kinsey is taking damage to the body and head.
Perez loading up with punches from the back mount - how long can Kinsey hold on?

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Perez is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Kinsey knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Kinsey for a finish.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kinsey breaks Perez's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
Kinsey wants to get up but he can't break Perez's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Perez tries to strike from the bottom.
Perez manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Kinsey manages to get himself to full guard.

Perez stands up and waves to Kinsey to follow him.

Kinsey fails in his attempt to clinch.
Kinsey tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Perez was well out of range. Poor timing from Kinsey.
Perez tries for a takedown but Kinsey circles away easily

and Kinsey counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Kinsey.
Perez is working for takedown but Kinsey is calmly controlling the position for now.

Kinsey works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.

Perez has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Kinsey can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Kinsey throws a big right hand that misses.

Perez looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Kinsey wanted to stand there but Perez had control of the position.
James Kinsey has got the better of the ground game so far.
Perez is trying to control the position but Kinsey postures up.

Kinsey gets to his feet - Perez follows without any prompting.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Thiago Perez will probably get the nod.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!

Perez shoots in for a double leg but Kinsey sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
A short uppercut from Perez.
Kinsey tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Perez smiles and moves away.
Kinsey scores to the head and body with a nice combination!
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Kinsey moves in looking to clinch but Perez pushes him off.
Perez looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Kinsey is fending him off so far but Perez persists. Nope, Kinsey circles away and we're back to standing.

Kinsey forces Perez back against the cage and clinches.
Perez digs a right hand into Kinsey's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Kinsey's gas tank.

Kinsey breaks from the clinch.

Kinsey has managed to clinch.
Perez can't break the clinch.
Perez has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Kinsey is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Kinsey manages to pull guard.
Kinsey keeping moving, preventing Perez from controlling successfully.

Perez stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Kinsey swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Kinsey uses the cage to get back to his feet.
Horrible takedown by Perez or perhaps it was just good defense by Kinsey which made him look bad.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Perez.
Kinsey shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Perez counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Perez throws a sloppy head kick and Kinsey moves out of range easily.
Thiago Perez is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Kinsey scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Kinsey is just content to waste time from the top position. Perez takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.

Kinsey drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Perez dives on top into guard.
Perez wants to stand but Kinsey is controlling his posture from full guard.

Kinsey pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Kinsey shoots for a takedown but Perez saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Kinsey drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Perez wants to sweep here but Kinsey controlling him for the moment.
Perez has momentary wrist control but Kinsey slips an elbow through the middle.

And that's the end of the fight!
James Kinsey comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Kinsey has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
