Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Mary Mccormick!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Nicolas Escobar !
The judges for this bout are , Timothy Bukovac and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mccormick shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Escobar as he jumps to the side.
Mccormick fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Escobar tries to counter with a clinch but Mccormick shakes him off and moves away.

Mccormick gets caught napping as Escobar dives in and scores a takedown. Mccormick manages to retain guard.
Escobar content to stall in guard here.
Mccormick has a closed guard, preventing Escobar from standing up.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Mccormick looking to hit a scissor sweep but Escobar is one step ahead there.
Mccormick trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!

Escobar sitting in guard, not really doing much.
Escobar sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Mccormick's guard.
Escobar looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Mccormick with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Mccormick wants to sweep but Escobar has passed to side control!

A lull in the action here.
Check out the look on Escobar 's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!
Escobar lands a nice forearm strike.
Mccormick seems a little lost for a moment, as Escobar dominates the positioning.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Escobar tries to stand but Mccormick is controlling his head.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Escobar tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Escobar has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Mccormick really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Escobar is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.
Let's hope that Escobar has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Mccormick on the wrong end of some ground and pound.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
A lull in the action here as Escobar stalls from top position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Escobar misses with a body kick.
Mccormick fails to land the takedown.

Mccormick looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Escobar slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Escobar utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Escobar has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Mccormick off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
Mccormick shoots in and drives through. Escobar sprawls well.

Mccormick fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Escobar to the ground. Mccormick is now in Escobar 's guard.
Mccormick throws a big elbow that misses.

Escobar working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Mccormick doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Mccormick manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Escobar pulls Mccormick in close to prevent any damage.
Mccormick postures up in Escobar 's guard and throws a big left but Escobar blocks it.

Escobar is looking to cinch up a triangle. Mccormick throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Escobar 's body to avoid the submission. Escobar has instead reached around Mccormick's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Escobar arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:24 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Nicolas Escobar !
