TWGC 22 (170lbs, D2): Las Vegas Qualifier - Round 1 PBP Commentary


Coming up we have a welterweight Tycoon World Grappling Championship rules bout between Martin Kampmann (ranked 5044 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Carter (ranked 2266 p4p, 252 weight class). Kampmann comes to the cage accompanied by The Wild Boys. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the welterweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of London, with a TWGC record of 1 wins and 2 losses; Martin Kampmann! And in the blue corner, fighting out of London, with a TWGC record of 0 wins and 0 losses; John Carter!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Chris Downing and Tiny Johnson.


The official calls the fighters to the middle and the contest is under way.
The fight stays on the outside here - Carter looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Kampmann tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Carter manages to circle out of the way.

Kampmann seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Carter has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
