Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Matheus Vasco (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nik Makos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Makos has chosen Rob dougan - clubbed to death as his entrance music. Nik Makos has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Matheus Vasco's chin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No joy there for Vasco, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Vasco drops Makos with a beautiful combination! Makos stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Vasco is looking for the KO!

It looks like Nik Makos has been cut.
Makos shoots in looking for a takedown. Vasco tries to sprawl out of it but Makos keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Vasco manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Vasco misses with a takedown attempt - Makos sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Vasco shoots in looking for a takedown. Makos tries to sprawl out of it but Vasco keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Makos manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Makos misses the jab.
Vasco throws a good cross that connects.

Makos moves into the clinch successfully.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Makos changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Vasco fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Vasco checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
Matheus Vasco seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and Makos counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.

Vasco pulls guard effortlessly.

Makos throws a big right hand that misses.
Vasco controls Makos momentarily but Makos frees himself.
Makos trying to control the position from guard on top but Vasco is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Vasco keeping busy, throwing shots from the bottom.
Vasco bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Makos's guard.
Vasco stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Makos swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Vasco wants to control from the top but Makos keeps moving.

Makos working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Vasco doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Makos is tightening it up a little... Vasco has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Vasco reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Vasco taps out! nice BJJ there by Makos!
