Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Stan Sanchez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Tim Cahill!
The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, Bruno Lombardi and Chad Campbell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice defenses there by Cahill.
Stan Sanchez seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Sanchez on the wrong end of a nice hook.

Cahill rushes Sanchez and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Sanchez stalling in the clinch.
Cahill scores with an uppercut up the middle.
Cahill digs a right hand into Sanchez's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Sanchez's gas tank.

Cahill is struggling to control the position.

Cahill misses with a hook to the ribs.
Sanchez's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
Cahill gets through Sanchez's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.


Sanchez is rocked!
Our sources have told us that Sanchez has been working on his knees in the buildup to the fight.
Sanchez is trying to break the clinch but Cahill has him pressed against the cage.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.

Cahill breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Sanchez looks to land a left hand but Cahill moved out of range nicely.
Cahill steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from Sanchez.

Cahill darts in and clinches Sanchez up against the cage.
Cahill cracks Sanchez with a nice body shot.
Cahill has Sanchez pressed against the cage, preventing Sanchez from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Cahill tries to work over Sanchez's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
The referee calls for Cahill to work.

Sanchez blocks a punch to the side of the head.

Cahill escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Cahill misses with the combination.
Cahill tries to close the distance and clinch but Sanchez swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Sanchez scores with a sloppy right hand. Cahill should have avoided that one.
Cahill throws a right and a left that both miss.
Cahill is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Sanchez.
A combination from Sanchez does no damage.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Cahill ducks under a wild hook from Sanchez.
Cahill dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Sanchez tries a head kick but it misses.
Cahill defending well as Sanchez loads up on a big left hand.
A big left from Sanchez misses.
Sanchez needs to keep his hands up - Cahill had a free shot at his head there.
Sanchez throws out a loose jab but Cahill uses good head movement to avoid it.

Cahill feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Sanchez sprawling to the canvas! Sanchez rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Cahill finish him?!
Oh Sanchez is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Sanchez throws out a loose jab but Cahill uses good head movement to avoid it.
Cahill throws out a counter right but Sanchez avoids it with no problem.
Sanchez circles to his right, straight into a beautiful hook by Cahill. Sanchez falls face first into the canvas - great knockout victory for Cahill!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:40 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Tim Cahill!
