Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Reggie Hutchinson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 33 - 17 - 1, fighting out of St Petersburg, Jermaine Barksdale!
The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Ian Loll and Elvis Blanc.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Barksdale darts in looking for a takedown but Hutchinson gets double underhooks and turns Barksdale into the cage.
Barksdale leaves Hutchinson with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Barksdale scores with a takedown into Hutchinson's guard.
Hutchinson striking off his back but it's not causing Barksdale any problems.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Barksdale postures up.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Hutchinson is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Barksdale defends well.
Hutchinson has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.
Barksdale wants to control from the top but Hutchinson keeps moving.

Hutchinson throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.

Hutchinson is looking for a triangle but Barksdale pushes his legs off easily.

Hutchinson tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Hutchinson trying to keep a closed guard but Barksdale is proving a slippery customer.
Hutchinson striking off his back but it's not causing Barksdale any problems.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Hutchinson tries to strike from the bottom.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Barksdale tries to score a power double leg takedown but Hutchinson sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Barksdale somewhat.
Barksdale looks winded!

Hutchinson fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Barksdale sprawls well initially but Hutchinson persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Hutchinson is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!

Hutchinson wants to finish this one by submission but Barksdale is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Hutchinson.

Hutchinson working for a guillotine from mount but Barksdale is in no mood to give up.
Barksdale looking to escape from mount but he's given up his back!

Barksdale is defending well here and trying to improve his position.

Hutchinson looking for the RNC.

Hutchinson is working for the choke. He's slipped one arm under the chin. Barksdale has to defend the other arm for all he's worth... but Hutchinson has managed to get that arm free too and he's tightening the choke! Barksdale taps out and looks absolutely disgusted with himself. Hutchinson doesn't care though - he's delighted!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:42 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Reggie Hutchinson!
Reggie Hutchinson thanked the fans post fight for their support.
In defeat, Jermaine Barksdale stepped up to the mic, saying 'My plan on winning or losing was to retire I'm 48 gonna turn 49 soon and i can't fight forever so i'm going to retire and i just want to say follow your dreams if i can fight till 48 anything is possible so i wiil retire'.
