Merengue has chosen Flood of Red - Dont Sleep, Swim. as his entrance music. Andy Silverson is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Seu Braga and Thiago Cunha.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A slapping leg kick lands for Merengue.

Silverson closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Silverson is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Merengue is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Silverson tries for a takedown but Merengue sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Merengue has his feet on Silverson's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
Merengue lands a high kick!
Andy Silverson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Merengue tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Silverson will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

A big head kick from Merengue and Silverson is sent sprawling to the canvas!

Silverson escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Merengue gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Oh Silverson is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Silverson is breathing heavily.
Merengue seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Merengue works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Silverson seems to have got his legs back now.

Silverson wants to get back to full guard.
Merengue perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

Well, if Merengue is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Silverson throws a strike from the bottom but Merengue passes into side control!
Silverson is looking for a sweep.
Merengue really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Silverson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Merengue connects with a vicious head kick that knocks Silverson to the floor! Merengue dives in looking for the finish!

Silverson is looking to improve his position.
Merengue content to control rather than advance.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Silverson is looking for a sweep. Merengue is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Merengue missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Silverson is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Silverson keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mike Merengue dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Silverson tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Merengue throws a nice outside leg kick.
Mike Merengue seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Merengue fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Silverson.
Merengue feints a jab and as Silverson dips his head, Merengue unleashes a brutal head kick that catches Silverson right on the jaw! Timbeeer! Silverson falls backwards in slow motion, only propped up by the cage! Merengue smiles a psychotic smile as he stares down his unconscious opponent. That is a scary man.
