The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hoohuli avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Hoohuli throws a series of punches but Martinez moves out of range.
Hoohuli throws a right hand that Martinez ducks under and follows up with a left that Martinez also avoids with ease.
Hoohuli shoots for a takedown but Martinez saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Martinez wants to clinch up but Hoohuli keeps it at a distance.

It looks like Forest Martinez has been cut.
Hoohuli fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

It looked like Martinez was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
Martinez really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Martinez is pressed up against the cage. Hoohuli has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Martinez down to the mat. Martinez avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Martinez is working for takedown but Hoohuli is calmly controlling the position for now.

Martinez tries to close the distance and clinch up but Hoohuli swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Martinez throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Hoohuli.

Hoohuli swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Hoohuli throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Martinez's waist but Martinez gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Hoohuli off to one side.

Martinez tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Hoohuli manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Hoohuli's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Martinez throws a right and a left that both miss.
Hoohuli misses with a jab, cross combination.

Hoohuli has closed the distance and engaged Martinez in a clinch.
Hoohuli looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.

Hoohuli escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Martinez will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Hoohuli has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Martinez regains guard immediately.

Hoohuli wants to stand up, so he's looking to wriggle free of Martinez's closed guard. He's half up but Martinez has locked on to an arm! Uh oh! Martinez pivots and extends the arm, Hoohuli falls face first to the mat and taps??... does he?? YES! He's tapping! Excellent counter grappling there by Martinez! Well done that man!
