Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Carl Grimey!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Moonlight Maze!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Jack Bonds and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maze lands with a cross.
Maze thuds a left hand into Grimey's body.
Moonlight Maze seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A jab lands there for Maze.
Maze dips to his left and cracks Grimey with an uppercut!


It looks like Carl Grimey has been cut.
Maze lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Grimey backs up against the cage.
Maze connects with a body shot.
Maze lands a nice looking body shot.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Maze swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Grimey.
Maze dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Grimey walks into a jab.
Maze bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Grimey's head backwards.

Maze fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Grimey on the side of the head.
Maze has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.

Carl Grimey's cut is getting worse.
Maze has been working his punching technique in the buildup to the fight and it appears to be paying off.

Grimey gets caught napping as Maze dives in and scores a takedown. Grimey manages to retain guard.
Grimey can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Maze controls the pace.
Grimey knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Maze on the ground.
Maze stands up over Grimey, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Grimey pulls Maze in close to his closed guard and prevents Maze from doing any damage or advancing position.
Maze chips away with some ground and pound.
Grimey can't keep his opponent in guard - Maze advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Maze takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Maze connects with a nice short shot to Grimey's temple.
Grimey on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Grimey tries to get out of the position.

The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Maze lands strikes from half guard.
Grimey has hold of Maze's hands but Maze slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Maze takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Maze seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Maze working Grimey over with strikes.
Maze landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
Maze working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Oh Grimey is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

Maze passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Grimey!
Grimey seems to have got his legs back now.

Grimey is flailing around, obviously not happy about being mounted. Maze locks hold of one of his arms and spins for an armbar. He's got it! Grimey is forced to tap!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:23 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Moonlight Maze!
Moonlight Maze decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
