PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Chris Flexen (ranked 5532 p4p, 508 weight class) and JaVon Vasquez (ranked 4425 p4p, 444 weight class). Flexen comes to the cage accompanied by Break Stuff-Limp Bizkit. Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, JaVon Vasquez!
The judges for this bout are Paul Gruel, Chris Saunders and Ryoma Takatsuka.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Danga de danga de dang - Vasquez scores with a four punch combination!
Vasquez takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Vasquez scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Vasquez takes a head kick and shrugs it off.

It looks like JaVon Vasquez has been cut.
Chris Flexen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Flexen takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Vasquez throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Flexen stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Flexen has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Flexen there as he acknowledges the shot.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Flexen throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Vasquez.
Vasquez swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Flexen misses with a takedown
and Vasquez counters with a crisp right that sends Flexen to the canvas! Vasquez follows up with punches from the mount and this one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:32 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). JaVon Vasquez!
A less than humble JaVon Vasquez misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
The defeated Chris Flexen had this to say: 'I'm big, strong and fast. I've been training 6 months, i'll be back...'.
