Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Chauncey Finley (ranked 7253 p4p, 0 weight class) and Janquef Carabas (ranked 5619 p4p, 197 weight class). Janquef Carabas will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Janquef Carabas!
The judges for this bout are Josh West, Colin Fray and Chris Saunders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Carabas drives through with a takedown into Finley's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Finley wants to sweep here but Carabas controlling him for the moment.
Carabas trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Finley really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Carabas in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

Carabas trying to control the position from guard on top but Finley is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Carabas decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Finley, up you get!
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Carabas closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Finley quickly recovers to half guard.

Finley is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Carabas pulls his head out easily.
Finley regains full guard. Nicely done.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Finley is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Finley will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Finley wants to get back to his feet but Carabas is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Finley has a closed guard, preventing Carabas from standing up.

Finley is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Finley throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.

Finley had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Carabas defends it easily.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Carabas slips nicely into half guard, despite the strikes coming from Finley.

Finley is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Carabas pulls his head out easily.
Carabas is keen to just control but Finley is a slippery customer.

Carabas is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Finley looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Carabas scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
Carabas is trying to control the action in half guard but Finley is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
The fighters are battling for position here. Finley manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

Finley looking for subs off his back but Carabas has passed one foot through into half guard.
Finley moves into full guard.
Carabas looks winded!

Carabas decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
A nice combination there by Carabas.
Finley blocks a head kick by Carabas.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Finley avoids the head kick by Carabas.
Finley shoots in but no luck this time.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Janquef Carabas dominated that round.
That's time! Back to the action!


Finley fails with a takedown attempt.
Finley takes a head kick and keeps coming.


It looks like Chauncey Finley has been cut.
Chauncey Finley is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Carabas lands a body shot.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Finley takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

Oh Finley is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Carabas goes for a small jab and connects. Now Carabas goes in closer pressing the issue. Left hook, right straight! Finley stumbles back but Carabas runs in with a huge uppercut knocking Finley to the ground! What a finish! You have to wonder if Finley will ever be the same after a knockout like that.
