The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Shade shoots in for a takedown and gets it.

Knight pushes Shade off and gets back to his feet.

Shade shoots in and bounces Knight off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Knight manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Shade closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Knight is positioning himself well to prevent Shade advancing to mount.

Shade wants to take a breather but Knight is having none of it.

Knight working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Shade doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Shade manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Shade has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Knight is working away from the top position though.
