The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Scanlan connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Nascimento momentarily.
Scanlan throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Nascimento sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Scanlan ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Nascimento moves out of range as Scanlan strikes.
Nascimento tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
Nascimento throws a body punch but Scanlan moves out of range.
A quick step to the side and Scanlan tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.
Nascimento misses with an uppercut
and Scanlan counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Nascimento moves away from the strike by Scanlan.
Scanlan throws an overhand right that lands on Nascimento's shoulder, as Nascimento tries to avoid the shot.

and Nascimento counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Nascimento.
Nascimento is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Scanlan can't keep his opponent in guard - Nascimento advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Nascimento seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Scanlan is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!

After the fight, Romulo Nascimento was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
