Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rueben Yates (ranked 5751 p4p, 0 weight class) and Don Juan (ranked 5903 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Rueben Yates!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Don Juan!
The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Edson Gomes and Matheus Silva.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Juan instigates a clinch.
Juan is trying to pull guard but Yates turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Yates dodges an elbow strike from Juan.
Juan can't break the clinch.
Juan working hard to break the clinch.
Juan jumps guard but Yates stands there with Juan around his waist. Juan gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Juan is trying to trip Yates. He has hold of a leg but Yates is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Juan persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Yates wants to stand but Juan is controlling the position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Juan tries to free his leg and advance position but Yates is retaining full guard.
Yates is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Juan is controlling him.
Juan stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Yates swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Yates wants to sweep here but Juan controlling him for the moment.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Juan is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Yates is pulling down on Juan's head to control his posture.

Yates is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Juan is aware though and is defending well.
Juan must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Juan in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Yates keeping moving, preventing Juan from controlling successfully.
Juan trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Yates will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Yates has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Juan can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Yates wants to stand and escape. He's got his foot on Juan's hips, looking to push off. But Juan grabs a hold of the leg and drops back for an ankle lock! It's hard to tell if he's got it. Both fighters look composed - OH, not anymore they don't! Yates screams like a kid who's trapped his fingers in the car door and taps out! Yikes, that must have hurt - hopefully it's not snapped anything!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Heel Hook). Don Juan!
