Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Fred Lineault (ranked 5729 p4p, 0 weight class) and Luke Scanlan (ranked 6410 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Elvis Blanc and Alec Ball.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lineault tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Lineault takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Scanlan connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.

Lineault takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Lineault fails with a takedown attempt.

Scanlan gets caught flat footed, as Lineault shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Scanlan can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Lineault controls the pace.

Lineault is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Lineault wants to pass the guard but Scanlan is keeping the position.
Scanlan can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Lineault controls the pace.
Lineault tries to free his leg and advance position but Scanlan is retaining full guard.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Lineault working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Lineault takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.

Scanlan tries to sprawl but Lineault drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Lineault is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Lineault seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Scanlan for as long as he can get away with.

Lineault has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Lineault is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Scanlan is surviving well by controlling Lineault's body position as best he can.

Lineault quickly switches position and commits to an armbar! It's a big risk for Lineault but it's paid off an Scanlan is forced to tap! Nice work by Lineault.
