Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Garrett Terry!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Daquan Jones!
The judges for this bout are Jorge Garcia, Jonathan Paton and Reed Andrews.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones looks for a takedown but Terry sprawls well.
Jones changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Terry tries to avoid it but Jones manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Terry to the ground. Terry escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Terry throws a head kick but Jones moves out of range.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Terry is defended easily by Jones.
Jones changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
Terry darts in looking for a takedown but Jones gets double underhooks and turns Terry into the cage.
Terry lands a two punch combo.
Terry could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Terry gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Jones postures up in Terry's guard and throws a big left but Terry blocks it.
Terry wants to stand but Jones is controlling the position.

Terry tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Jones postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Jones's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Jones is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

Jones arches his back and unloads with a massive left and a right! Terry's eyes roll back into his head, he's out cold! The ref dives in to stop the fight - wow, they were hard shots!
