And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are James Glass, Colin Fotheringham and Phil Schofield.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Emelianenko gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Arafat is looking for a takedown.
Emelianenko is trying to break the clinch but Arafat is controlling him.
Emelianenko digs a right hand underneath Arafat's ribcage. Arafat let out a lung full of air as it connected.
Emelianenko wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Emelianenko pulls Arafat into guard.
Emelianenko preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Arafat working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Emelianenko tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Arafat throws an elbow that misses. Emelianenko uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Arafat's guard. Nice move by Emelianenko!

Emelianenko cracks Arafat with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Emelianenko wants to control the pace but Arafat is squirming around nicely.

Arafat takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
Emelianenko looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.
Emelianenko postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Arafat looks a forlorn figure.
Emelianenko loads up with a big shot that hurts Arafat! He's pulled Emelianenko in close but Emelianenko has postured up and lands more strikes. Can Arafat survive? More strikes from Emelianenko and Arafat is out! The ref jumps in to save him! Brutal ground and pound!
