Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Earl Lee Grace!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Pina Colada Hoi!
The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Johanna Lukiainen and Tarja Halkonen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Grace throws a looping overhand right but Hoi ducks down to avoid it.
Hoi feints a counter leg kick.
Grace scores with a nice head shot.
Grace misses the jab.
Grace throws the left hand but Hoi avoids the punch easily.
Grace takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Hoi dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Grace. That did some damage!
Hoi slips under a jab from Grace.
Hoi tries to work over Grace's front leg with a kick but Grace checks it.
The fighters circling - Hoi throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Grace seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.
Grace throws a hook to the side of Hoi's head but Hoi sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Hoi let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
An inside leg kick from Hoi misses.
Grace lands a head shot.
Grace moves into range and connects with a jab.
Grace on the wrong end of a nice jab.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Grace throws a right and a left that Hoi avoids nicely.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Grace fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Grace connects with a good right hand that stumbles Hoi. Hoi circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Grace motions for Hoi to come forward. Grace throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Hoi shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Grace dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Hoi. That did some damage!
Hoi waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Grace.
Grace fakes a right and follows up with a big left that drops Hoi to one knee - oooooh, he's wobbly! Hoi looks to clinch but Grace throws him off and pummels him into the canvas! Hoi taps out under the strikes! The fight is over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:35 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Strikes). Earl Lee Grace!
