Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Vladimir Kovalev (ranked 245 p4p, 12 weight class) and Jack Shaw (ranked 1816 p4p, 53 weight class). Shaw has chosen Family Force 5 - Chainsaw as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Kovalev has a slight injury, which hopefully won't affect the fight too much. Jack Shaw has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shaw buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Shaw throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Shaw throws a leg kick which misses Kovalev's front leg but catches the back leg as Kovalev tries to avoid it.
Shaw catches Kovalev with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Shaw misses with a shot to the body
and Kovalev counters with a right hand to the body.
Shaw connects with a looping right hand.
Shaw lands a jab to the head.
Kovalev drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Kovalev on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Shaw. Shaw obviously looking to wear him down.

Kovalev throws an overhand right that lands on Shaw's shoulder, as Shaw tries to avoid the shot.

Kovalev swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect.
Shaw scores with a hook.
Shaw has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.

Kovalev appears to be looking for a big counter.
Shaw uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Kovalev.
Shaw looks to score with a jab to the body but Kovalev is just out of range.

Kovalev throws a hook to the side of Shaw's head but Shaw sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Shaw connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Kovalev's hands.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Shaw takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.

Oh Kovalev is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Shaw lands a nice looking body shot.
Shaw lands a big right hook! Kovalev looks hurt but is still standing! Shaw lands a left jab and another right hook! This time Kovalev falls down and Shaw dives in with a huge hammer fist! Kovalev's eyes roll back! The referee calls for the bell and Shaw runs up the cage to celebrate with his fans!

A very excited looking Jack Shaw rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
