PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Hans Brock (ranked 6950 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ricardo Dalisay (ranked 7470 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Hans Brock!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ricardo Dalisay!
The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Shigeki Sano and Taro Takaoka.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Dalisay rushes Brock and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Brock changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Dalisay fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Brock has closed the distance and engaged Dalisay in a clinch.

Dalisay escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Dalisay shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Brock pinned against the cage. Brock gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Brock stuffs the takedown.
Brock tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Dalisay manages to circle out of the way.

Dalisay rushes Brock and presses him up against the cage.

Brock is trying to trip Dalisay. He has hold of a leg but Dalisay is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Brock persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

Brock working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

Brock drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Brock jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Dalisay looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Dalisay preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.

Brock gets to his feet. Dalisay looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Dalisay instigates a clinch.

Brock breaks the clinch.
Brock goes for a double leg but Dalisay avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Dalisay continues to drive forward.
Dalisay is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own.

Brock fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Dalisay, pushing him back against the cage.
Brock drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Hans Brock. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Dalisay struggles to land a body shot inside as Brock controls his hands.
Dalisay prevents Brock from breaking the clinch.
Dalisay blocks an uppercut.

Brock is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Dalisay pulls him back up using the underhooks.

Brock postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Dalisay is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Brock, into his guard.

Brock looking for a sweep. Not yet Brock, not yet.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Dalisay scoring with some ground and pound.
Brock is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Brock is working hard here to advance position.
Brock not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Brock looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Dalisay puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
Brock is breathing heavily.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Dalisay working over Brock with some ground and pound. Brock looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Dalisay shoots in but no luck this time.
Brock went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
Horrible takedown attempt by Brock or perhaps it was just good defense by Dalisay, which made it look bad.
Dalisay tries to close the distance and clinch up but Brock swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Dalisay tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Brock swivels and escapes.
Dalisay misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Hans Brock has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ricardo Dalisay.

Dalisay pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Brock back to the cage. Dalisay follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.

Dalisay has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Brock after a bit of a struggle.

Dalisay tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Brock defends well and Dalisay ends up having to push Brock into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Dalisay should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Brock shoots in looking for a takedown but Dalisay manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Brock's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Brock takes the fight into the clinch.

Brock breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
A slapping leg kick lands for Dalisay.
Brock fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Dalisay has a takedown stuffed.
Brock displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Dalisay.

Brock fails with an attempt to clinch.
Dalisay is looking to clinch.
Brock is looking to counter the offense by Dalisay and move into the clinch.
Brock tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Dalisay tries to counter by closing the distance.
Dalisay on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Brock. Brock obviously looking to wear him down.

Brock clinches up against the cage.
Brock throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Dalisays head.

Dalisay's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Dalisay avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
A decent looking body kick lands there for Brock.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. And we move into the final round!


The fight stays on the outside here - Brock looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Brock is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Dalisay.
Brock tries for a takedown but Dalisay sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Brock slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Brock tries to score a body lock takedown but Dalisay shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

Brock breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Ricardo Dalisay seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Brock clinches.
Brock wants to break the clinch but can't.
Brock wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Hans Brock has scored more points in the clinch so far.
Brock jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Dalisay walks away with a smile on his face. Brock gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Hans Brock. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Dalisay tries to clinch but Brock is having none of it.

Dalisay dives in and scores a takedown into Brock's guard.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Brock manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.
Dalisay lands with a short shot to the head.

Brock is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

and Brock takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Ricardo Dalisay.
I think Dalisay has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
