Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Akio Kurosaki!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Nick Cause!
The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, Joseph Jones and David Schapiro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kurosaki tries a head kick but it misses.
Cause has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Cause throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Kurosaki counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Cause misses with a low kick as Kurosaki jumps back.
Cause uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Kurosaki.
Kurosaki staying out of range there.
Kurosaki tried to counter with a leg kick but Cause avoided it.
Cause tried to score with a low kick but Kurosaki checks it.
As Cause looks to move away, Kurosaki throws a big counter combo but Cause just gets out of the way.
Cause misses with a left hand
and Kurosaki counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Cause swinging wildly here.
Kurosaki feinted there with a counter leg kick.
Cause takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Cause throws a lazy right hand but Kurosaki sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
A slapping body kick lands there for Kurosaki.
A bone on bone clash there as Kurosaki blocks the leg kick.
Kurosaki lets loose with a powerful body kick. Cause will feel that in the morning.
A jab from Cause misses.
Cause throws a low kick but Kurosaki moves out of range easily.
As Cause backs away, Kurosaki returns fire with a leg kick that just misses.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Kurosaki displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Cause throws out the jab.
Cause misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Kurosaki throws a leg kick which misses Cause's front leg but catches the back leg as Cause tries to avoid it.

Cause throws out a leg kick but Kurosaki moves out of range and Cause only half commits.
We've been told by Kurosaki's head coaches at White Eagle that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.

Kurosaki slips a straight right by Cause.
Cause steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Kurosaki.
A left lands for Cause.
Cause throws a half hearted mid kick.
Cause scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Cause throws a body kick that misses.
It looked like Kurosaki wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Good work by Kurosaki as he checks the leg kick.
Kurosaki was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Good leg kick by Kurosaki there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Kurosaki looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Cause throws a low kick but Kurosaki moves out of range easily.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Cause throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Kurosaki looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Kurosaki slips under a jab.
A slow jab from Cause misses its intended target.
Cause jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Cause throws out a loose jab but Kurosaki uses good head movement to avoid it.
Kurosaki circles and sees the opportunity to plant his feet and throw a really nice straight left hand that drops Cause to the canvas! Cause doesn't know where he is but he's trying to survive - Kurosaki keeps piling on the pressure and forces the referee to step in! This one is aaaaaall over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:28 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Akio Kurosaki!
