Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Sapushi Kurchinu!
The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Marco Blurström and Roosa Järviläinen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Freedhead looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Freedhead clinches up against the cage.
Kurchinu is trying to break the clinch but Freedhead has him pressed against the cage.
Freedhead avoiding damage.
Kurchinu is defending well against a takedown attempt.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Freedhead jumps into guard, dragging Kurchinu to the mat.
Kurchinu makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Kurchinu stands up over Freedhead, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Kurchinu is working Freedhead over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Kurchinu lands a couple of digs.
Kurchinu throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Kurchinu postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.


It looks like Vince Freedhead has been cut.
Kurchinu scoring with punches to the head and body.


Vince Freedhead's cut is getting worse.
Kurchinu trying to control the position from guard on top but Freedhead is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Kurchinu postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kurchinu postures up from his opponent's guard, before exploding into some vicious ground and pound! Freedhead covers up, he's hurt! Kurchinu keeps throwing the strikes, glancing at the referee... Will he stop it?? One more big shot from Kurchinu and the ref steps in to end the fight! Kurchinu can't hide his delight as he celebrates with his corner.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:45 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Sapushi Kurchinu!
