Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Chas Pate (ranked 25466 p4p, 0 weight class) and Homer Simpson (ranked 5764 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pate has a takedown stuffed.

The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Simpson takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.

Simpson shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Simpson showed some decent athleticism there.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Pate has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Simpson is working away from the top position though.

Simpson is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Pate is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Simpson tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Simpson has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Pate is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.

Simpson shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Pate's guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
