PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bruno Villarreal (ranked 23408 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sergio Menezes (ranked 5781 p4p, 0 weight class). Sergio Menezes told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Villarreal gets caught napping as Menezes dives in and scores a takedown. Villarreal manages to retain guard.
Villarreal might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Menezes lands a couple of digs.
Villarreal looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Menezes really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Villarreal. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Menezes trying to control the position from guard on top but Villarreal is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Villarreal bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Menezes's guard.

Villarreal decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Villarreal feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Menezes pushes Villarreal off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
