Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Tyler Steinkamp!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Larry David!
The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, Bruno Lombardi and Dean Styles.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Steinkamp shoots for a double leg takedown but David sprawls well. He's pushed Steinkamp's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
David's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Steinkamp connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! David scrambles back to his feet.
David doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Steinkamp holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
David is looking to control Steinkamp's arms but Steinkamp gets an underhook and turns him. Now David has his back to the cage.
Steinkamp trying to land knees to the body.
Steinkamp's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Steinkamp takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
David tries to clinch but Steinkamp is having none of it.
David misses with a wild combination.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
David tries to keep at a distance but Steinkamp has taken the fight into the clinch.
Steinkamp wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round.
David breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
David bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Steinkamp's head.
Steinkamp closes the distance and clinches.
Steinkamp throws an elbow that misses.
The referee calls for David to work.
A bit of stalling here from Steinkamp.
Steinkamp escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Steinkamp closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. David did well to prevent Steinkamp getting side control.
Steinkamp with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
David wants to control but Steinkamp is keeping busy and won't allow it.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
David is looking for a sweep. Steinkamp is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Steinkamp is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! David is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
