The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Scacchi shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Roach is trying to defend but Scacchi finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Roach is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Scacchi pulls his head out easily.
Roach wants to control but Scacchi is keeping busy.
Roach is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Scacchi wants to free his trapped foot but Roach is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Scacchi decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.

Scacchi drives through with a takedown into Roach's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

Roach has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Scacchi has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.

Roach ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Roach no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Scacchi must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Oh but Roach is tightening it up a little... Scacchi has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight!
