Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between James Neil (ranked 1799 p4p, 220 weight class) and Gilberto Simeone (ranked 1635 p4p, 198 weight class). Neil comes into the arena with Allman Brothers Band - Midnight Rider blaring out of the sound system. James Neil is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Gilberto Simeone!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Simeone with a body punch. A glancing blow.
Simeone throws a low kick but Neil moves out of range easily.
Neil swings for the body but Simeone moves out of range.

Neil uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Simeone.
Simeone ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Simeone, right into the meat.
Simeone has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
A clash of legs there as Simeone blocks the low kick.

Simeone gets caught flat footed, as Neil shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Simeone wants to stand up but Neil is controlling him.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Neil accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Neil seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Simeone can do anything to dispel that myth.

Neil looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Simeone with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
