Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Raaka Arska (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mort Goldman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Goldman is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Thunder Kiss 65. This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Raaka Arska!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mort Goldman!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Daniel Franklin and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Goldman waving his hands out infront of him, looking to distract Arska.
Good shot there by Arska.
Goldman moves out of range of the strikes.
Arska throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Goldman.
Goldman chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Arska can pounce on him.
Nice combo by Arska! Oh, that's hurt him - Goldman falls to the canvas and Arska follows him into side control.


It looks like Mort Goldman has been cut.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Arska working away.
Goldman takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.
Goldman stops Arska from passing to mount.
Goldman is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Arska off and has taken his back!
Arska breaks Goldman's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
Arska is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Arska postures up.

Goldman being controlled here, momentarily.
Goldman is pulling down on Arska's head to control his posture.
Arska wants to stand but Goldman has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Goldman wants to sweep here but Arska controlling him for the moment.
Arska is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Goldman is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Arska not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Arska has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Goldman is trying to control the position but Arska postures up.

Arska stays in close to Goldman's body and controls the position.

Goldman had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Arska is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Goldman Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Arska's back instead.
Goldman doesn't have the hooks in and Arska manages to turn into his guard.
Arska not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Goldman has a closed guard, preventing Arska from standing up.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Goldman controls Arska momentarily but Arska frees himself.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Arska avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Goldman is looking for a triangle but Arska pushes his legs off easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The cut man is working on Mort Goldman's cut.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Goldman slips a straight right by Arska.
Arska throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
A combination from Arska does no damage.
Goldman takes a swing at Arska's ribcage but misses.
Arska will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Arska gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Arska looking for a sweep. Not yet Arska, not yet.
Goldman trying to control the position from guard on top but Arska is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Goldman tries to free his leg and advance position but Arska is retaining full guard.

Goldman drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Arska manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Goldman has Arska in his guard.

Goldman has his foot on Arska's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Arska works his way back into a safe position though.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Goldman throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Arska sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Arska misses with a looping left.
Arska swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Goldman takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Arska misses with an uppercut. Goldman saw that one coming.
Goldman looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Arska misses with a two punch combination.

That's time! Arska's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!


Arska throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Arska connects with a jab.
Arska keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Goldman.

Goldman forces Arska back against the cage and clinches.

Goldman breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Arska looks to land a combination but Goldman avoids it well.
Goldman misses with a takedown attempt - Arska sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Arska throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Arska looks to land a right hand but Goldman moved out of range.

Goldman uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Arska.

Goldman shoots for a double leg takedown but Arska sprawls well. He's pushed Goldman's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Raaka Arska has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mort Goldman.
Goldman takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Goldman moves out of range as Arska strikes.

Arska lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Arska is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Goldman can do to turn this around?
Arska finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Goldman shoots in but Arska avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Raaka Arska seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Goldman doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Arska lands a nice looking body shot.

Arska misses with a few strikes there.
Raaka Arska is winning the standup battle so far.
Arska connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Arska takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Arska fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Goldman on the side of the head.
Arska connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Oh, that's a big right hand from Arska and Goldman goes tumbling to the canvas! Arska follows him to the ground and looks to finish from half guard.

Arska postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Goldman to stand up.
Arska throws a right and a left that both miss.

Arska goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Goldman looks to land a combination but Arska avoids it well.
Arska misses with a series of wild punches.
Raaka Arska is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Goldman tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Goldman takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Arska throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Goldman.
Arska rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Goldman moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Goldman moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.

Goldman postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Goldman trying to control the position but Arska is working away.

Goldman tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Goldman has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Arska tries to buck Goldman off but Goldman is having none of it.

And that's the end of the fight!
Raaka Arska showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Arska, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
