Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Lucas Medeiros (ranked 8686 p4p, 0 weight class) and Don Juan (ranked 6366 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Lucas Medeiros!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Don Juan!
The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Mauricio Rocha and Leandro Rodrigues.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Juan throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Juan stuffs the takedown attempt from Medeiros. Medeiros gets slowly back to his feet.

Juan drives through with a takedown into guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Juan tries to free his leg and advance position but Medeiros is retaining full guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Juan rushes Medeiros and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Juan jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Medeiros walks away with a smile on his face. Juan gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Juan looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Juan shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Juan takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Juan fails with a takedown attempt.
Juan shoots and misses

and Medeiros counters by moving into the clinch.
Lucas Medeiros has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Don Juan.
Medeiros scores with a nice hook to the head.
Medeiros tries for a takedown but Juan manages to get underhooks.

Juan jumps guard and drags Medeiros to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Juan kicks Medeiros off and gets to his feet.
Juan tries to score with a low kick but Medeiros moves his leg out of the way.
Juan darts in looking for a takedown but Medeiros gets double underhooks and turns Juan into the cage.

Medeiros moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Medeiros misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

Juan stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Medeiros.

Juan has taken the fight to the clinch.
Juan is trying to push Medeiros away but Medeiros has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

Medeiros is fighting off a takedown attempt but Juan is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Medeiros to the mat. Medeiros regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Juan rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Medeiros moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Juan is looking to clinch but Medeiros is avoiding it.
Medeiros changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Juan tries to avoid it but Medeiros manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Juan to the ground. Juan escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Juan decides to stand back up. Juan steps back and let's Medeiros get back to his feet.
Lucas Medeiros is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Juan closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Medeiros's guard.
Medeiros wants to control the position but Juan says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Juan has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Medeiros's face.
Medeiros is looking to improve his position but Juan isn't that keen on the idea.
Juan controlling from mount.
Medeiros takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Juan tries to control but Medeiros wriggling away.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Don Juan showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. And we move into the final round!

Juan tries to pass to full mount but Medeiros defends it.
Juan seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Medeiros does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Medeiros is looking to improve his position.
Juan is trying to control the action in half guard but Medeiros is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Juan decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.

Juan decides to stand back up. Juan steps back and let's Medeiros get back to his feet.

Juan tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Juan shoots in looking for a takedown but Medeiros manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Juan's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Medeiros is looking to get back to is feet but Juan passes into side control.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

You can see the frustration on Medeiros's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Juan thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Don Juan is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

I've got Juan winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
