Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Sergio Konstantine (ranked 3961 p4p, 413 weight class) and Tony Jaa (ranked 8112 p4p, 590 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sergio Konstantine!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Tony Jaa!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Stewart Dunkirk and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Konstantine shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Konstantine showed some decent athleticism there.

Jaa told us pre-fight that he has been working on his escapes in training. Let's see if he can call on some of his new skills to get back to his feet.
The fighters are battling for position here. Jaa manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Konstantine wants to lay and pray for a moment but Jaa keeps working.
Konstantine wants to pass to mount but Jaa is defending the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Jaa tries to roll over but Konstantine keeps him under control.
Konstantine trying to mount his opponent but Jaa defends it.
Jaa wants to get back to full guard.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Konstantine trying to control the action but Jaa is working from the bottom.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Jaa rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Konstantine moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Jaa stuffs the takedown.

Konstantine feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Jaa wants to control but Konstantine is keeping busy.

Konstantine is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Jaa doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Konstantine.

Konstantine seems to be looking for submissions.
Jaa really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Konstantine. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Konstantine slows the pace down in half guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Konstantine is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Jaa is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Konstantine tries to move to mount but Jaa blocks the move with his legs.
Jaa seems a little lost for a moment, as Konstantine dominates the positioning.

Konstantine wants to control but Jaa is keeping him busy.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Jaa stuffs the takedown attempt from Konstantine. Konstantine gets slowly back to his feet.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!



A momentary lapse in concentration from Jaa enables Konstantine to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Jaa manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Jaa manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.
Jaa is stalling here.
Konstantine changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Jaa fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Jaa shoots in and drives through. Konstantine sprawls well.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Jaa postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Konstantine looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Konstantine had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Jaa defends it easily.
Konstantine is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Konstantine keeping moving, preventing Jaa from controlling successfully.

Konstantine has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Jaa can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Jaa with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.

Konstantine is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Jaa defends well.

Jaa is trying to maintain the position but Konstantine is very close to passing his half guard.

Jaa pushes Konstantine away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Konstantine gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

I would just about give that final round to Tony Jaa.
I think Jaa has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
