Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Rupert Blasts (ranked 1354 p4p, 169 weight class) and Alexander Potter (ranked 1469 p4p, 178 weight class). The key to victory for Rupert Blasts has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 26 - 12 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Rupert Blasts!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 21 - 14 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Alexander Potter!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Ren Mimura and Tatsuya Matsuyama.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Potter has managed to clinch.
Blasts misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Potter.
Blasts crunches a lovely knee into Potter's ribcage.
Blasts lands a shoulder strike.
Blasts misses with a short punch on the inside.
Blasts misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Potter blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Potter is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Blasts is defending well.
Potter tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
A head punch on the inside from Potter fails to land.
Potter is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Blasts pulls him back up using the underhooks.

Potter breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Blasts has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Potter is proving hard to escape from.

Blasts stands up from Potter's guard - Blasts perhaps looking for a knockout.
The fighters circling - Potter throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Potter ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Blasts moves away.
Potter tries to clinch there but Blasts circles away.
Potter throws a leg kick which misses Blasts's front leg but catches the back leg as Blasts tries to avoid it.
Blasts dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
The fight stays on the outside here - Potter looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

We've been told by Blasts's head coaches at HELLCADEMY (Ground Training) that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.

Blasts throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Potter's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.

Blasts scores with a sloppy right hand. Potter should have avoided that one.
Potter is still on wobbly legs! Can Blasts finish him?

Blasts closes the distance and clinches.
An uppercut to the body lands inside from Blasts.
Blasts lands an uppercut in the clinch that drops Potter to his knees! Blasts keeps firing more shots against his stricken opponent and the referee jumps in to save him!

Rupert Blasts spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
