Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Kuroda Atsushii (ranked 111 p4p, 16 weight class) and Misha Collins (ranked 219 p4p, 29 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Kuroda Atsushii!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 20 - 15 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Misha Collins!
The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, Colin Fotheringham and William Gold.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Atsushii uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Collins.
Collins throws a big shot that misses.
Atsushii throws a looping overhand right but Collins ducks down to avoid it.
Atsushii takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Collins fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Collins lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Atsushii at a distance.

Collins throws his legs up looking for a submission but Atsushii uses it to pass to side control.
You can see the frustration on Collins's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Collins takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Collins gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Collins is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Collins is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Atsushii pulls his head out easily.

Atsushii seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.

Misha Collins seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and Atsushii counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.

As Collins backs away, Atsushii returns fire with a leg kick that just misses.
Kuroda Atsushii has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Misha Collins.
Atsushii tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Collins was well out of range. Poor timing from Atsushii.

Atsushii throws a shot from downtown. Collins moves away and avoids it.
Collins throws a body punch but Atsushii moves out of range.

and Atsushii connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Collins shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Atsushii sprawls well. Atsushii wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Collins gets slowly back to his feet.
Atsushii shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.

Atsushii walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Collins stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Collins scores with a one two! Atsushii had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Collins shoots in looking for a takedown but Atsushii manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Collins's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Collins throws out a loose jab but Atsushii uses good head movement to avoid it.
Collins fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Atsushii manages to avoid it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Collins throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Collins throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Atsushii's waist but Atsushii gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Collins off to one side.
Atsushii appeared to be looking to counter that last move with a leg kick.

Collins's jab looks to have found its range, popping Atsushii under the eye.

Some bone on bone action there as Collins checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Atsushii with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Collins to score with a decent uppercut.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Collins dives in for a single leg takedown but Atsushii sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the ropes.

Collins closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Atsushii to the mat! Atsushii manages to get full guard.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

That's time! Atsushii's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!


Atsushii throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
A nice side step and Collins releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.
Collins ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Collins shoots in for a takedown but Atsushii shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
