The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Anni Minnemäki and Ben Zyskovitsi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Horrible takedown attempt by Gomez or perhaps it was just good defense by Pawlowski, which made it look bad.
Gomez drives through and clinches with Pawlowski against the cage.
Pawlowski escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Gomez gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Pawlowski to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Pawlowski slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Pawlowski got a little sloppy there for a moment and Gomez has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Pawlowski has managed to get both his arms back between Gomez's legs - danger averted.
Gomez has momentary wrist control but Pawlowski slips an elbow through the middle.

Gomez is trying to work for a sweep but Pawlowski has mounted him!
Pawlowski is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet!
Gomez closes the distance and pushes Pawlowski back into the cage.
Pawlowski drags the fight down to the ground.
Pawlowski wants to stand and escape but Gomez is having none of it.

Pawlowski can't keep his opponent in guard - Gomez advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Pawlowski throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Gomez escapes and throws Pawlowski's legs to the side, diving into side control!

Gomez tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Pawlowski fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Gomez sprawls well initially but Pawlowski persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Gomez is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Pawlowski pulls his head out easily.
Gomez has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Pawlowski is working away from the top position though.

Pawlowski seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Pawlowski is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Pawlowski has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Miroslaw Pawlowski has got the better of the ground game so far.

Gomez has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Pawlowski stands up from half guard.
Pawlowski fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Gomez looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Pawlowski cracks Gomez with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Pawlowski has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Gomez to stand back up!
Gomez is rocked!
It looks like Ronny Gomez has been cut.

Gomez tries to close the distance and clinch but Pawlowski swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Oh Gomez is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Pawlowski pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Gomez wants to clinch up but Pawlowski keeps it at a distance.
Miroslaw Pawlowski is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Pawlowski closes the distance looking for a takedown. Gomez stuffs it but Pawlowski still has hold of him. Pawlowski picks Gomez up in a fireman's lift! The crowd roars in approval. Pawlowski slams Gomez to the floor and that's really hurt Gomez - he doesn't know where he is! Pawlowski throws a couple of strikes and the referee steps in to save him! This one is in the books!

Miroslaw Pawlowski decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little.
