PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Mark Lee (ranked 4668 p4p, 412 weight class) and Dan Gable (ranked 5069 p4p, 428 weight class). Lee comes to the cage accompanied by Look alive drake. Gable has chosen The Warrior as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mark Lee!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Dan Gable!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Frank Dennis and Chris Downing.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lee has a takedown stuffed.
Gable lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
Lee fails with the takedown
and Gable counters with a series of strikes. Lee will be more careful next time no doubt.

Lee shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Lee showed some decent athleticism there.
Lee wants to control but Gable is keeping him busy.
Gable has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Lee is working away from the top position though.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Gable can do anything to dispel that myth.
Gable is trying to get back to full guard.
Gable is trying to control but can't.
Gable has hold of Lee's hands but Lee slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Gable is looking to control Lee's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Gable avoid being mounted?
Lee stalling.
Gable is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Lee jumps into side control!

Gable is looking for a sweep.
Gable is not in a great position here, taking some shots.
Gable is looking to get back to his feet here but Lee is keeping cool and he's managed to take Gable's back.
Gable is trying to remain composed but Lee is hammering down strikes to the side of his head.
Gable is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.
Lee is landing with strikes. Gable can't take much more of this.
Lee is working the ground and pound. Can Gable escape?
Gable breaks Lee's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
Lee has control of Gable's left arm, preventing Gable from doing any damage.

Gable throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Lee works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Lee pulls Gable in close to his closed guard and prevents Gable from doing any damage or advancing position.
Gable with a flurry of punches that miss.
Gable postures up in Lee's guard and throws a big left but Lee blocks it.
Gable stops Lee from standing up.

Gable is sitting in close to Lee's body. Lee has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Gable is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Gable is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Lee.

After the fight, Mark Lee was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
