Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Techno Viking (ranked 2817 p4p, 313 weight class) and Shakhbulat Shamkhalaev (ranked 3250 p4p, 350 weight class). Viking comes into the arena with Techno Viking blaring out of the sound system. Shakhbulat Shamkhalaev has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Viking looks to land a left hand but Shamkhalaev moved out of range nicely.
Viking avoids the head kick by Shamkhalaev.
Viking tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Shamkhalaev was well out of range. Poor timing from Viking.
Shamkhalaev throws an overhand right that lands on Viking's shoulder, as Viking tries to avoid the shot.
A quick step to the side and Viking tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.

Shamkhalaev throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Shamkhalaev takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Viking cracks Shamkhalaev with a right hand to the side of the head.
Viking really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Good leg kick by Shamkhalaev there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

Viking went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Viking throws a hook but Shamkhalaev blocks it.
Shamkhalaev appeared to try and counter that last move with a leg kick.

Shamkhalaev closes the distance and lands a vicious right hand that drops Viking! Shamkhalaev dives in looking to finish! Viking is still trying to defend himself but he's taking too many shots and the referee has no choice but to stop the fight!
