Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Chris Cornell!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Thor Ragardo!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Timothy Bukovac and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cornell takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Ragardo tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Donk. Ragardo catches Cornell right on the button with a cross.

Ragardo closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Ragardo wants to get back to his feet.
Cornell moves into full guard.
Ragardo would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Cornell had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Ragardo defends it easily.
Ragardo wants to get up but he can't break Cornell's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Ragardo is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.

Ragardo stands and steps away. Cornell gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Cornell takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Cornell has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Cornell shoots for a double leg takedown but Ragardo sprawls well. He's pushed Cornell's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Ragardo lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Ragardo drops Cornell with a straight left! Oh this is bad for Cornell! Ragardo dives in and starts dropping bombs - the referee has no choice but to step in and save him!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:06 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Thor Ragardo!
A relieved looking Thor Ragardo thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
