The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Nurmy connects with a body shot.
ONeill slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Nurmy throws a right hand that misses
and ONeill counters with a straight right hand.
Nurmy changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. ONeill tries to avoid it but Nurmy manages to keep hold of a leg and drag ONeill to the ground. ONeill escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
ONeill got a little sloppy there for a moment and Nurmy has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, ONeill has managed to get both his arms back between Nurmy's legs - danger averted.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
ONeill wants to get up but he can't break Nurmy's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
