Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Rogelio Walton (ranked 24892 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rodney Bosswell (ranked 3588 p4p, 289 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Rogelio Walton!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Rodney Bosswell!
The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, John Kavanagh and Lou da Vinci.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Bosswell darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Walton could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Walton wants to improve his position but Bosswell is controlling well.

Bosswell stands up from half guard.

Bosswell scores with a takedown into Walton's guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Walton is controlling Bosswell's posture.
Walton wants to sweep but no luck.

Bosswell slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Walton manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Bosswell manages to get himself to full guard.

Bosswell seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Bosswell is looking to sweep but instead, Walton has passed into half guard.

Bosswell tries to roll over but Walton keeps him under control.
Bosswell has a hand on Walton's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Walton takes advantage of the position though and mounts him!
Bosswell tries to hold on but Walton pushes him away.
Bosswell keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Bosswell's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.

Walton thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage.
Bosswell is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Bosswell avoids a strike by Walton and manages to complete a very nice reversal in the process, to end up in Walton's guard! Fantastic escape!
Walton wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

Bosswell decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Walton, up you get!

Bosswell changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Walton looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Bosswell really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Walton. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Walton might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Walton wants to control the position but Bosswell says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.
Walton tries to roll over but Bosswell keeps him under control.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Bosswell in particular looking to stall.
Walton is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Bosswell scores with a couple of nice shots.
Bosswell is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.

Bosswell is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Bosswell lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.

Walton has hold of Bosswell's hands but Bosswell slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Bosswell is taking a breather. Walton says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Bosswell decides to stand up.

Bosswell throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Walton was covering up waiting for the punch and Bosswell finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Walton is trying to control the position but Bosswell postures up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Rodney Bosswell showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!



Bosswell throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Walton tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Bosswell is in Walton's guard.
Bosswell stands up over Walton, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Walton has his foot on Bosswell's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Bosswell works his way back into a safe position though.

Walton is looking to control Bosswell's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Walton avoid being mounted?

Bosswell decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.

Bosswell drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Bosswell seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

The referee warns Walton that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Walton is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Bosswell is landing with some decent strikes but Walton is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

Bosswell has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Bosswell is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Walton has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Walton!
Bosswell manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Walton manages to get himself to full guard.

Walton seems to have got his legs back now.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Bosswell is stalling in the full guard.
Bosswell's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Bosswell must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Rodney Bosswell comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Bosswell has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
