Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jamar Wall (ranked 5499 p4p, 0 weight class) and Johan Stefansson (ranked 5529 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Jamar Wall!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Johan Stefansson!
The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Marco Blurström and Tarja Halkonen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Stefansson scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Wall could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Wall trying to control from the bottom.
Stefansson with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
Wall trying to control but Stefansson postures up.

Stefansson is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Wall has managed to free his arm - good work.
Stefansson lands strikes from half guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Stefansson is working for a kimura but Wall is defending it quite comfortably.
Stefansson scores with a couple of good hammerfists.

It looks like Stefansson is going to stand back up.
Stefansson is nestled in close to Wall, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Stefansson is thwarting Wall's attempts to control the position.
Stefansson seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
It looks like Stefansson is going to stand back up.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

A quick step to the side and Wall tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.

Stefansson fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Wall sprawls well initially but Stefansson persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Stefansson looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Wall is positioning himself well to prevent Stefansson advancing to mount.

Wall trying to control from the bottom.
Stefansson is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
Wall wants to control but Stefansson is keeping busy.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Stefansson lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Wall or not.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Stefansson breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Johan Stefansson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Stefansson lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Wall at a distance.
Wall tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Stefansson defends well and Wall ends up having to push Stefansson into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Stefansson drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

Wall pushes Stefansson off and scrambles back to his feet.

Wall tries to sprawl but Stefansson drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Wall might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Stefansson's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Stefansson is thwarting Wall's attempts to control the position.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Stefansson winds up and cracks Wall with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Stefansson looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Wall with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Wall has hold of Stefansson's hands but Stefansson slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

Stefansson looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Stefansson tries to stand but can't do so whilst Wall controls his leg.
Wall keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Stefansson connects with a nice short shot to Wall's temple.
Stefansson thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Stefansson tries to pass the half guard into mount. Wall knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Stefansson working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Wall trying to hold on to Stefansson's head to control him but Stefansson postures up.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Stefansson connects with a nice short shot to Wall's temple.
Wall is in trouble now - Stefansson has advanced to mount!
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Johan Stefansson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

Stefansson wants to stand but Wall has his arm trapped.

Wall manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Stefansson slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.

Stefansson is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Wall defends well.
Wall postures up in Stefansson's guard and throws a big left but Stefansson blocks it.
Stefansson wants to sweep here but Wall controlling him for the moment.
Stefansson bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Wall's guard.

Stefansson seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Wall is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Stefansson stays in close to Wall's body and controls the position.
Stefansson tries to free his leg and advance position but Wall is retaining full guard.
Wall wants to control but Stefansson passes easily into half guard.
Stefansson looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Stefansson is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Stefansson seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Stefansson passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Wall!
Wall is trying desperately to improve position.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Stefansson cracks Wall with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

And that's the end of the fight!
Johan Stefansson comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Stefansson has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
